QCASS Single-Reed Mingle

QCASS Single-Reed Mingle

QCASS is excited to announce its first ever Single-Reed Mingle!

This event is perfectly suited to community musicians, soon to graduate and recent high-school graduates, and mature-age musicians who have an instrument in the cupboard and would love a reason to restore their playing skills.

Join fellow single-reed players from in and around Brisbane for a morning of clarinet choir and saxophone choir rehearsals, interspersed with informative sessions on clarinet/saxophone fundamentals and practice techniques for the busy professional. The event will conclude with a short, informal performance of the works rehearsed by each of the two Reed choirs.

QSO Associate Principal and Yamaha Performing Artist Brian Catchlove will share his knowledge and tips with all the clarinettists, and renowned freelance woodwind specialist Karen Corkeron will lead the saxophone info sessions. The clarinet choir will be conducted by Rianne Wilschut and the saxophone choir by Pierce Hurne.

When: Sunday March 26th, 11:00am – 3:00pm.

Where: Redlands College Music Department, 38 Anson Road, Wellington Point 4160. (Plenty of parking available).

Bring: instrument, some refreshments for lunch… and good reeds! Tea and coffee will be available at the venue.

Admission: $40

Registration deadline: Sunday March 19th

Looking forward to a fabulous Single-Reed Mingle on March 26th!
